Conclusion

The main goals of this lesson are for you to:

-         Go beyond the usual topics of a Spanish class.

-         Become aware of the different perspectives in the immigration debate.

-         See the effects of this issue in our city, state, and country.

-         Become familiar with using the Internet to conduct research on a current event.

-         Use group work as a way to share and learn new information.

-         Learn how to work collaboratively to develop a stance on an issue.

I hope that this project got you interested in the issue of immigration!  If you are still interested in learning more about this topic, I recommend the following:

-         Look at any of the suggested websites that your group may not have had time to explore.

-         Look in newspapers and current events magazines.  For example, at least once a week in the local paper, there is an article relating to immigration.  This is an unbiased (unless it is in the Opinion section), up-to-date source of information.
