This web Quest is designed to engage students in the mythology surrounding Homer's Odyssey. This will also give them a better understanding about the characters and settings.
Teacher Introduction
The purpose of this lesson is explore the mythical surroundings of Homer's the Odyssey. This sort of in depth assignment allows the teacher to focus on some of the characters that were not as emphasized while reading the book. The Odyssey is a very dense work of literature and it is very easy to "lose" a student through out the course of reading. This lesson allows for the students to go back to the text to complete this assignment.
This is a fun creative way to get the students engaged in the text. It serves as a review as well. I also find that by adding the element of competition the students work ethic rises.
This Assignment can be modified for larger classes by adding more groups. This can be done by adding extra regions to the already existing ones.
