This webquest will take the learner back in time to see where fossils came from. It will provide the learner with background knowledge (the rock cycle) to understand how fossils are formed and why they are important to us today. The learner will be able to describe and evaluate what conditions are right for fossil development.
Introduction

You and a partner are about to discover the world of fossils. You will discover what scientists study rocks and fossils, the different types of rocks and which one/ones that are important for fossils to be created, the conditions that are right for fossils and those that are not. You will also discover why fossils are important to us.
Throughout this webquest, you will work in pairs. Each person will assume a role and you will work together through each part of the webquest to discover all that we can about fossils. There are lots of fun things to view along the way so have fun!
