This WebQuest will require students to research a well known literary author or poet. The students will work in groups of three, each will take on a different role which determines what type of research they will conduct in regards to their author. Once the research is complete they will collaboratively put together an oral presentation as well as an advertising billboard which promotes their author and his/her works.

Introduction

 

You are about to embark on a journey through an author or poets life and their literary works. Many of you have experience in reading some of the greatest literature of the 19th and 20th centuries, but have you ever thought about why a particular piece of literature was written and what may have influenced that piece of literature? During this project you will not only get the chance to investigate a well known writer with your peers, but because you will be experts at the end of your investigations you will create an advertising billboard for your author in order to promote their works to the public. Your author is counting on you to represent their literary talents and of course to make them famous!
