Teacher Resources
Resources you will need to implement this webquest:
- Enough computers for all of your students (My classroom does not have computers, so we signed up in advance to use the computer lab. If you have computers in your room, it is possible that more work could be done online. For example, I provided the groups with poems in which to find examples of their device, but depending on their skill level students could be required to find poems online)
- You should choose which literary devices you want them to know and then choose poems they can use accordingly, (i.e.: Be careful that you don't provide a poem without any examples of onomatopoeia to the group who researched that device!)
- Butcher paper and markers.
- There are a lot of websites that offer glossaries of literary terms and devices. I chose one that I thought my students would best understand. I also provided the link to Longman Online Dictionary because it is a great dictionary for ESL students.
- Make sure none of your web links are blocked on your school computers! Sometimes a perfectly "clean" website can be blocked for having a funny name.
