Gather books from the classroom, school, and public library to include in your literacy station. Books can be about simple machines, playgrounds, and construction.

If time allows the teacher can ask a guest speaker, who has knowledge of playground construction to come and talk to the class.

 Also, check with your local city museums to see if they have any special exhibit on simple machines.
