The Standards this will address are twofold. The Utah State Core Curriculum and the National Educational Technology Standards ISTE NETS

Technology Operations and Concepts

Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems and operations. Students:

  1. understand and use technology systems.
  2. select and use applications effectively and productively.
  3. troubleshoot systems and applications.
  4. transfer current knowledge to learning of new technologies. 

Educational Technology - (Grades 3-5)

Standard 5

Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (3, 4)

Language Arts - 3rd Grade, 4th Grade,  5th Grade, 6th Grade

Standard 7  Comprehension-Students understand, interpret, and analyze narrative and informational grade level text.

Objective 3
Recognize and use features of narrative and informational text.

b. Identify different genres: fairy tales, poems, realistic fiction, fantasy, fables, folk tales, tall tales, biographies, historical fiction.
