Learners

This webquest was created for eleventh grade English or social studies classes.  Its purpose is to help students become aware of the political world around them and understand how politicians are portrayed in the media.  As a final product, students will write a persuasive letter to the editor of their high school newspaper.

These students will soon be joining those that can vote and this webquest shows them who the candidates really are.  Even though, after the presidential election, many of the websites in the quest will have changed, the sites can be adapted to any election, federal or more local.

In addition to providing students with real-world applications, this webquest relates to New Jersey's Core Curriculum Content Standards and help prepare students for standardized testing.  With modifications, this quest can be used for almost any English or social studies class.
