Teacher Introduction
This WebQuest is designed to let students read further into the text than what is on the page. They will dissect the main themes of To Kill A Mockingbird but will also look into the social and historical context of those themes.
By writing a letter, students will develop a relationship with these characters and their struggles. At the end they will have come up with an in-depth analysis of not only the text but how lives were affected in this time of such inequality. This assignment will also, hopefully, push students to look at their lives in the present day and relate to or make a change in their own experiences.
By incorporating independent and group work, students can see how their writing affects others and how powerful their own opinions and analysis can be.
