Now, you have made the difficult decision selecting your news articles and publishing the newspaper. The newspaper should accurately reflect life as it was in 1848. Hopefully, you have been able to put yourself in the role of the newspaper editor surrounded by the thrills and challenges of life during the Gold Rush.
Once you have finished the Webquest on the Gold Rush, you should have a greater appreciation for the struggles of the early 49'ers. These early westward pioneers helped shape the face of the West and opened up new frontiers for Americans and for the California we live in today.
