Read and Evaluate: 
1- First, you will use the web site resources and the Discovery Education video to gain further understanding of the discovery of gold and life in the gold mining towns. Remember to rely on prior knowledge from classroom material, as well. As you read, watch and review main ideas about the Gold Rush era, take notes on the Inspiration graphic organizer.
Use Gold Rush materials provided by the classroom teacher.

3- Graphic Organizer- Use Inspiration to organize Gold Rush Topics.
Decide and Write: 
1- Choose the topics that you feel the world needs to know about events during the Gold Rush and begin writing the articles and collecting photos from the bookmarked sites.

d-Advertisement
e-Photos
2-Write the articles in complete sentences and paragraphs about your selected Gold Rush topics. Then, begin the Edit process.
Design and Publish: 
Design your Newspaper- Open Pages template: "Collector Newsletter"
a. Create your one-page newspaper by creating a name for the
paper and a logo.
b. Layout your Headline and the date (remember, it is after January 24, 1848)
c. Decide your order and placement of your articles and photos and add them into the layout.
d. Be sure to edit and use spell check again.
