The Irish Seal Sanctuary presents a discovery and exploratory exercise for Primary School students in 5th and 6th Class. In Ireland, we have two species of Seals, the Grey Seal and the Harbour Seal, also known as the Common Seal. This Webquest will allow you 'Discover Seals in Ireland' as Wildlife Experts.

Introduction

Welcome Wildlife Experts to the Student Pages!

The 'Discover Seals in Ireland' Webquest wants you to learn about Seals in Ireland and investigate their home, their body and their lives.  You will be asked to investigate Seals as a team of wildlife experts.  Each person is given different responsiblities.  An expert is a person who knows alot about a subject.

You will discover the Grey Seal or the Harbour Seal, native marine mammals of Ireland.  You will learn about animal welfare and the work of seal sanctuaries such as the Irish Seal Sanctuary in County Dublin, Ireland.

Students from 5th and 6th Class can take part in this discovery excerise.  You will use internet websites and wildlife books from your local library to gather information to make a booklet.
