This WebQuest is to educate children in the fifth grade about the health concerns associated with tobacco use. The goal of this lesson is to ensure that children are well informed about the health risks so they may make an informed choice when confronted with the question of whether or not to use tobacco products.
Introduction
Hello, let me introduce myself.
My name is Agent Breathe Right.
I am on a mission and I am going to need your help. It has come to my attention that everyone does not know that smoking is harmful. So it's up to us to work together as a team to gather clues to lead us to facts to solve the case of Cigarettes: To smoke or not to smoke! Your teacher will provide you with a folder and other materials that you will need. Before we begin, I will need to know just how much you really know about cigarettes and how they affect the human body. Please, click on the KWL Activity Link.
Print out the KWL Activity Chart. Then fill out the first two columns ("What you know" and "what you want to know" about cigarettes and smoking). When finished place it in your folder, we will come back to this activity later.
