This WebQuest, designed especially for fourth graders, will help students research and make travel plans to the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City. Students will also map out a travel route and have the opportunity to stop and explore sites along the way.

Teacher Introduction

Thanks for considering "Travel to the Capitol Dome."

Every year hundreds of Missouri fourth-graders visit the State Capitol.  This an opportunity for your students to either complete a virtual tour or prepare for an actual visit.  Either way, they are sure to enjoy the challenges of sorting through the possibilities and working with others to plan a trip everyone would enjoy.  Additionally, they will calculate time and distance, read a map, locate sites of interest along the route, and prepare an oral, written and visual presentation to the class.

This WebQuest will enhance plans you've already made or help create them.  Students will come away with a deeper knowledge of what they might see in Jefferson City and certainly get more out of the trip once they get there.
