In this WebQuest, students will work with a partner to learn more about explorers to the Americas. Each student in the group will pick an explorer of their own to research. Once the information is gathered, the partners will work together to generate questions to be used to interview their explorers. The students will then create a podcast where one person is the reporter and the other is the explorer. They will then reverse rolls to create a podcast about the other exploerer.
Introduction
Welcome to our WebQuest on early explorers to the Americas. You will work individually and with a partner to create a podcast on two different explorers. First, both you and your partner will research information on two different explorers that came to the Americas. You will need to find out where your explorer was born, what country he sailed for, why he explored, what his goals were, and whether or not he was successful. Next, you will write a script about your explorer. One part will be for a reporter who gets to interview the explorer. The other part will be for the explorer who is answering the questions. Do this for both of your explorers. When you are done with the script, you will make a podcast to share with the class.
