Process

First of all, you will create a rough draft/graphic organiser of your project. This is a 3-piece process.

1. Figure out what your destination will be! Once you've found a place where you'd like to study your target language, begin assembling some background information.

2.Using the information assembled in #1, create a web page that gives a brief outline of your travel abroad program. Be sure to include the following:

DESTINATION:

EDUCATION:         HABITATION:

FOOD (Is it room and board?):

ENTERTAINMENT:

 3. Based on your brochure presentation, now create the budget for such a program, calculating what the costs associated with each section might be.

Recommended tools: Inspiration, Google search, Windows Publisher, Moodle

Now that you have completed the first process, it's time to create a simulation of your year/semester abroad.

You will create a multimedia scrapbook to show what you did with your time. Include links, photos, songs, etc. While you are creating this, keep in mind that how you get to your end product is very important. You will be writing a weekly reflective paragraph during the course of this project (which will take the rest of the year to complete). This will be posted to a forum on our Moodle page. If there is something that you found helpful or something that is causing you difficulty, share this information in your Forum post. You need to respond to a minimum of 3 posts a week, offering constructive feedback to your peers.

For extra credit, you will have the opportunity to share some of your expertise with the rest of the class in the form of tutorials. Create step-by-step instructions to help others complete their projects. Ideas for tutorials need to be cleared with the teacher first.

Last, but not least, your multimedia presentation to the class.

You will deliver a 15 minute presentation to the class where you will 'show and tell' what you did during your time abroad. In order to do so, you will need to create a multimedia scrapbook (you may have traditional scrapbook items as well). The rubric below entails what you will be graded on by your peers:
