 Teacher Introduction

This WebQuest is an exploration into a specific genre of literature: fairy tales.  The tasks and processes within this technology-based activity provide students the opportunity to develop various literacy skills, including reading, the writing process, speaking and listening through collaboration with peers and the use of internet and word-processing technology.

Using their knowledge of fairy tale stories, students will work with partners to write their own version of a traditional fairy tale, creating a "fractured" fairy tale.  Working collaboratively with other students allows for peer support during the reading and writing processes for those students that require support in these literacy tasks.      

When finished with the writing task, students will create a graphic organizer in the form of a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast the original fairy tale to their fractured version.
