The students participating in the webquest will investigate Louis Riel and perform a mock trial for treason based on the evidence available.
Congratulations!!! You have been selected by the Historical Society to investigate the trial of Louis Riel, the Metis rights advocate. Louis Riel was charged for the execution of Thomas Scott during the first Red River Rebellion and it is up to you to decide whether he is innocent or guilty of treason. Both the Metis of the Red River and the Government of Canada require your knowledge to offer a fair and unbiased decision on the fate of Louis Riel as you participate in a courtroom setting presentation.
