The first and most critical step in working with young children who have special needs is understanding positive behavior support.
Introduction
What will you do when you are trying to get that adorable little kiddo to sit with you and actually interact with you when all they want to do is act out? The following WebQuest will provide a step by step lesson for beginning paraprofessionals who need help in understanding how to use positive behavior supports in the classroom. During this WebQuest, when discussing interventions to teach students new skills, or skills that they need to use better and more efficiently, the term Applied Behavior Analysis is used. When discussing interventions to change student behaviors which are not desired in the school setting, the term Positive Behavior Supports is used.
Now let's begin!
