This webquest is designed to get students thinking about the complexity of Shakespeare's characters and the ways in which he creates interesting and often challenging relationships among the primary characters of his plays.
Introduction
Love! Lust! Betrayal!
Imagine falling in love with someone and not having your deepest and most passionate feelings ignored--tossed aside like yesterday's paper! Such misunderstandings are at the core of William Shakespeare's romantic comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream". But just imagine if Hermia, Demetrius, Helena or Oberon had been each given the opportunity to tell each other exactly whom the true obeject of their desire was and what they expected in return? Would this have changed the outcome of the play? Would it have made things better or worse?
