Task
Based on your knowledge about the different types of earthquake waves and building designs, it's time for you and your lab partners to put your knowledge to use. You will work in groups of three. Choose your partners wisely. Remember, everyone must be responsible for accomplishing their portion of the task.
Divide up the assignment among the group members. Your group will include:
- Architect - look for preexisting designs for earthquake proof houses, understand how designs work, create blueprint of groups chosen design on poster paper to share with board members (class)
- Scientist - explain the phenomena of earthquakes (what it is, why it happens), create a fact sheet for board (class)
- Design Artist - Using information provided by your team member, use the linear design process to select the best idea then draw dimensioned sketches, create a power point presentation to present your design and knowledge to the class.
