This is a webquest for 4th grade students. They will research six different kinds of animals to learn about their qualities as pets. They will then evaluate four letters from children, and decide which pet is best for them.
Teacher Introduction
This Webquest is designed to help 4th grade students have some experience doing research on-line. I've included links to several different sites with information about animals. Students will be researching specific questions about six different types of pets. They will each have an aspect of the pet they're researching (i.e. eating habits, exercise needs, etc). I've included a graphic organizer with the two questions assigned to each student. As a group (or individually if the class has access to a computer lab), students will visit the sites and fill in the requested information. They will then use what they have learned, to advise four fictional children on the pet that would be best suited for them. Each student will then write a letter, defending their choice.
