Cracking the genetic code has created exciting and controversial problems for society. After performing the webquest, students should have a strong background in the current technologies of manipulating DNA and should be able to form an opinion based on scientific facts as to whether the technology has positive or negative consequences for society. Future generations will have difficult decisions to make as man becomes more and more powerful in manipulating DNA.
