Conclusion
Today you listened to and watched the first ever televised debate in American history. Since this deabate in 1960, the television has steadily played a larger role in politics and in everyday life. The role of the television has extended past just debates and has moved into everyday life. Politicians must now constantly worry about their personal style and appearance on a day to day basis. Television cameras are everywhere. Just imagine how different the history of our country would be without the invention of the television. How many presidential elections would have turned out differently if there was no media? Think about how different the outcomes of elections would be if debates were televised before the Kennedy and Nixon debate. Do you think Franklin Roosevelt would have been elected to four different terms if he was forced to debate on television every election year? The television has had a profound impact on American history and will continue to do so in the years to come.
