This webquest analyzes the role that the television had on the 1960 Kennedy/Nixon debates.

Teacher Introduction

This webquest is designed for students to learn about the role of the television in the first nationally televised presidential debate. Students will acquire an understanding of the role the television and the media has played in the decision of our president. The students will act as reporters and editors writing about what they witnessed in the debate. The activity is designed to understand the media's role in politics and to enhance the students' writing abilities.
