Coquinaria Romana

Romans had many of the same foods we do as well as many foods which were very different.  Some of the differences have 

to do with the availability of foods, e.g. potatoes come from the New World, so there wasn't a 

Roman anywhere who had even tried a French fry or a potato chip!

In a wealthy household Roman cooks had many interesting options, especially when preparing a fancy dinner to impress the guests of the master.
