Process
1. Grouping
-First, get into your pre-assigned groups.
-Divide the following roles:
Head Researcher
Description: Collect the factual and most important data from websites
Recorder
Description: Record information, take notes on computer
Reporter
Description: Give summary of completed work and remaining tasks at beginning of each work session. Plan report to give to other group.
Organization Expert
Description: Organize the information in the care manual
2. Videos
*Watch videos about penguins.
*Create a graphic organizer or use one of the examples below. Record the needs, habitat, and diet of penguins. Include at least 3 notes for each topic. Your graphic organizer will be graded using the checklist under Evaluation.
*If needed, watch more penguin videos on youtube.com.

3. Care Manual
*As a group, pick the penguin species you want to write about.
*Search these websites for information:
*Use the rubric under Evaluation as a guide. An excellent care manual would include everything in the rubric.
*When finished, have each person edit and revise one section of your care manual. If you have questions, schedule a conference with me.
4. Draw a floor plan.
*You need to draw a floor plan for your penguins' habitat.
*Use the rubric, Evaluation, if needed to guide you through making the habitat.
*Use either technology (Microsoft Office, Paint, PowerPoint) or art supplies.
*Be creative, but be sure to include areas for:
____ sleeping
____ eating
____ playing
____ exercise
5. Brief Presentation 
*Prepare a 3-5 minute report about your penguin.
*Use the rubric, Evaluation, to guide you in creating your presentation.
*You will present to another group.
*Be sure to include information on all major aspects of your penguin. Also, include information on its future habitat.
