Teacher Introduction

I have been teaching for five years and especially enjoy working with students at the fifth grade level. My favorite subject is social studies, and I like to visit historical places.

In this webquest, students will travel back in time to produce a television news program at the scene of one of the most significant battles of the American Revolution. The students will research 5 important battles, and after weighing and evaluating various factors of each battle, will choose the one that they and their group members consider the most important of the war.  The students will also design a mural to memorialize this battle and will present it at the conclusion of their television broadcast.  Both of the student products are intended to persuade a historical committee that the battle that the group has chosen is the most important battle of the Revolutionary War.
