1. Before starting this activity, the teacher should ensure students are comfortable using computers and the web.
2. The activity should be started one week before the field trip, so the students have time to select their role and turn in the form for Checkpoint 1. After the field trip, five class periods will be required to complete the rest of the task. Two class periods will be used for student research, two for preparing the guide and presentation, and one for the class presentations.
3. The checkpoint form is meant to be used by the teacher as a way to track student progress.
