This webquest is designed to help students learn about nutrition and keep a log of the calories they eat as well as the calories they expend through exercise.

Introduction


 

Everyone needs food to live. But how and when do we know that it is enough? It is essential that we know and understand what our body really needs when it comes to food selection. The principle is closely similar when we want to buy new clothes, we really look into the details, like does it fit me perfectly, is this the right color combination, is this the latest design, does my budget fit the price tag, etc.  We tend to think that creating nutritious meal can empty our pocket. Each food that we eat somehow represents what we know about food.

 

You will be introduced to the Food Guide Pyramid, learn what is it about, and how you can use it in your everyday life. You will consider serving size and calorie intake for the food that you eat. You will also need to see how many calories that your are expending by daily exercise or the lack of exercise.
