Writers' Workshop designed to ferry fourth grade students through the process of writing that culminates in submission for publication in Stone Soup, a literary magazine for young writers and artists.
Introduction

Welcome to Writers' Workshop Web quest! This web quest will ferry a journey from the inkling of idea to the composition of written expression, docking at the doors of publication. An exploration across literary genres, our small grouped wordsmiths will birth ideas, cultivate concepts into writing, prune, pluck, and pontificate , priming for submission to a literary magazine for children entitled "Stone Soup." The overall purpose of this quest is to familiarize, investigate, expand, and engage in the writing process by dabbling in genres, collaborating strategies,thoughts, and ideas for improvement; by conceptualizing communication through writing and the implications thereof; and by finding a voice that speaks through your pen and permeates the page waking words into wonder. The goal of this quest is to submit an original work for publication. In order to reach this goal, you will wander through the layered learning of literacy, whet wonder’s whistle, and summon creativity’s sword to thrash and twirl authentic cogitation to print.Through collaborative discussion among peers, and editing extraordinaire, you shall create a treasured piece of prose, poetry or pedantic pandering of passions; by the close of this quest, you shall exclaim, “I am, and I write!” With mighty pen, clasped triumphantly in hand, your arms wave victoriously above your head reaching for the heavens; and so our quest begins…
