The purpose of this Web Quest is to prepare students for life outside the classroom. Managing and investing money will be crucial to each learner, no matter which path they choose in life. We want to equip them by giving them a chance to see potential loss or profit without the risk. Students newer to the English language will be able to work in pairs so that hopefully any language gaps will be filled in by their partner.

Introduction

As responsible citizens we should prepare ourselves for the real world and the decisions we need to make. Learning about one's finances and personal spending decisions are vital to everyone's life. This WebQuest is designed to introduce you to the concept of investing in the stock market.

You will start with a job. You will then need to figure out how much to invest in the stock market.

You will then need to carefully search for some good stocks to invest in.

You will track your stock over the course of the semester. At the end of the semester you will get to see whether you made money or not!

It is important to recognize that money is not more important than people.  So, you will be required to donate a small portion of your income to practice taking care of others!
