Task
Your task is a simple, yet a very important one. You will research websites to gather information and learn about the plight of the burrowing owl, and how our treatment of the land and wildlife mirrors the way we treat one another. Cooperation and consideration go a long way in facilitating a long and happy existence for us all.
Each of you will play an important role in this project. Of course, all roles overlap and you will be sharing information with each other as you go. In the end, you will have made a Power Point and at least two posters.
Your research team will consist of four roles:
Environmentalist--you will research the causes and effects of changes in the habitats of the Burrowing Owl. How can the environment influence the way they live? How does it influence the way that we live?
Ornithologist--you will learn ten important facts about the burrowing owl. Five of your facts must include geography, food sources, reproduction, origins, adaptations, and five may be of your choice.
Sociologist--you will examine the effects of how we treat the Burrowing Owl. Important questions that are to be answered are . You will also look at bullying among humans. How does it affect us, as victims, and as bullies. What can we do to prevent or stop bullying in our schools and communities?
Business person--you have the unenviable task of discovering a balance between business and nature. How can the two co-exist? Which is more important? What effect does business have on nature? How can business help the environment?
