The idea behind this webquest is to create a multi-week group project that will facilitate discovery learning, and enable students to explore basic chemistry concepts, chemical elements, the periodic table, and obtain an appreciation of the influence that chemistry and chemical elements have on our everyday lives.
Introduction
Imagine that you forming a new marketing firm and your first potential client, Lehrer Incorporated, is a company that sells chemical elements. Your client has asked that you create an infomercial that will provide consumers (the folks that buy your products) with information about the elements so they’ll know how the element can benefit them, how each element can improve the consumer’s life, how safe is each product, how they can use each element, and what they can make from each element, etc... They need this information to figure out what products to buy.
In the same way that other companies advertise their products using infomercials, you too must provide your client’s potential customer base with a vast amount of material in a short amount of time.
