In this Webquest, we will read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, research a country in the world, develop a fictional character based on your research and create a PowerPoint presentation on the country and character.

Introduction

In the Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins, the Capitol dominates the public and keeps the citizens in the districts in line by threatened devastation, starvation and brutality.  Katniss, her family and citizens of her District and others suffer from hunger and will do anything to try to find additional food beyond what the Capitol supplies.  The winner of the Hunger Games will win food for their district for the upcoming year.

What is hunger really like around the world?  You will research a country around the world and create a presentation describing current conditions. You will create a fictional character that may be chosen for the games and describe what their potential strengths and weaknesses might be due to where they live.
