Students will analyze poster art as means of propaganda and as a device from wartime recruitment. Then Students will create their own wartime propaganda poster.
Many of you would be surprised to learn that in World War 1, women were allowed to join the armed services for the first time in American history. Nearly 11,000 women served in the Navy and about 300 women joined the Marines. Women also served in the Red Cross and in the U.S. Army Corps of Nurses. Women also helped at home taking over industrial jobs the men left behind.
